In Search of Contacts and Patio Guy

Family Travel Guatemala

At breakfast I saw the Swedish woman who was singing soprano with me last night. Her name is the same as Kier’s, but she pronounces it very differently. She has lived here for sometime. I asked her if there was somewhere I could buy contacts. She said there used to be an optometrist who came every Saturday, and that there is at least one place in town to buy contacts. After breakfast I set off to find the place. I did find it. They don’t have all the new high tech lenses we have that are highly permeable, etc. They carry the basic older contacts which you need to take out daily, clean, and they last for 2-3 months. They came in packs of three for $50. Since there were no choices I didn’t have think about it very long.

A guy was supposed to come to do the patio today or tomorrow. He didn’t come today, so I can only hope he will come tomorrow.

These days the daily routine for the girls includes some type of play practice, whether it is trapeze, salsa, voice, dance. They spend at least a couple of hours there every day. When they get home they are tired, hungry, need to do homework and unwind. Then we had some of Kier’s friends over in the evening watched a movie. She made some yummy spaghetti with meat sauce.
