Three Cheers, Paul’s Here

Cali woke up with a bloody nose. I had to strip the bed and took those sheets in to my laundry people. I pre-treated the blood, but wasn’t sure if that would come out. We’ll see just how good the laundry-godesses are.

Our Spanish teacher got robbed on the weekend. Her credit cards are from Europe, so it will take a while for her to regroup. She had invited the neighbor family that has 8 kids, to do something nice for them. Her wallet was still present after the party. Her many dogs didn’t bark during the night, so she thinks someone familiar was in her house, likely one of the kids. That’s too bad because she is always doing kind things for people (and dogs) in the neighborhood. Now she is thinking she will keep more to herself. Shame. She also left her bike somewhere last week, which she knows was her mistake, and that’s also gone. Not a great week for her.

After Spanish I went and dropped off the sheets, went home and cleaned the house. Wondered when the shuttle will get here with Paul.

I watched Paul’s plane with an online flight tracker, so I knew he’d landed safely. Then about an hour after he had landed I got a call from the airport that he couldn’t find the guy with the shuttle. That was because the guy was talking with his buddies and never held up the sign with Paul’s name on it. After a few calls back and forth with instructions that Paul is a gringo with a green jacket, they found each other. Then they stopped at Antigua and Paul had to switch to a different shuttle.

Meanwhile, we were waiting on the street for him to arrive. The girls waited for a few hours, but when it started to get dark, I made them come inside. It was way past Cali’s bedtime and I had no idea when he would actually arrive, so I put her to bed. The minute we did that, there was a knock on the door. He followed all the signs we left on the street and on the door. It was all very exciting!!

We put the younger girls to bed and just Paul and I went out. We walked downtown, went to PanaRock for some supper. There was a band playing, even on a Monday night. We saw some of my friends and I got to introduce Paul to all of them. After supper we went to Atlantis for hot chocolate. Paul admitted that it was the best hot chocolate he’d ever had. Then we walked home. He was exhausted since he’d been up since 3:30 a.m. Pretty amazing to have him here. He was quite a few pounds thinner and had a new tat, which the girls especially love, since it’s their names.

More manana.
