A Movie and Moules

Paris

Day 136

Paris

Bercy

The French are masters of enjoying themselves daily. They sit in cafes, go out to eat with friends, savor life as it unfolds. They don’t wait for vacations or even the weekend to get out and enjoy themselves and the people they care about. They creatively find settings to do this, whether a common sidewalk, in a movie theater lobby cafe/bar, or at a metro stop. We entered an urban clothing and surf shop, only to find a bar at the back with live music. But of course.

The girls wanted to see Pan and their parents wanted to drink wine and eat moule frite. Solution–Bercy, a great little shopping area with cute outdoor cafes, and a monster UGC theater complex. Everyone happy.

While the girls were watching their movie, Paul and I did some shopping and went to an Austrian creperie where he tried a savory crepe with a full-blown salad on top and I had moule frite creme. Everyone doing a little of what they love– something, like the French, we will strive to do more often.
