Day 274, Tokyo, Japan
Ueno Park and the area surrounding it encapsulates the different aspects of Tokyo well. In it you have the various shrines, museums, the zoo and science museum. You have people relaxing by walking their dogs, watching buskers, having coffee, looking at the cherry blossoms. Adjacent to the park you have a shopping district that resembles a market, along with the larger department stores.
Today was doing a little of everything. We relaxed in the park, went to shrines, took pictures of cherry blossoms, shopped in big stores and little ones.
Cali took these pictures at the Gojōten Jinja shrine.
A busker was setting up outside the zoo for a magic show.
On the edge of Ueno Park there is a market.
We ended the evening in a restaurant at the top of a building, watching the people below and the trains come and go. Then we took the train home through Ueno Station, the same large station where we got lost our first night in Tokyo. Now, we have a solid understanding with how this beast of a subway system works. Small victories!
