Day 349, Split, Croatia
Each city has a personality, Split feels particularly unique. We, as tourists, are in the minority, which is our preference. It has the familiar buzz of a small town, but it’s a larger city. In the central area, down by the water, it feels like an outdoor community center. There are families with babies, young children learning to ride bikes, older people chatting and playing games, younger adults playing instruments and laughing, owners playing fetch with their dogs. Every walk of life, happily represented in this relaxed, beautiful setting. We had some of the best pasta meals in Split. After dinner, you simply want to linger in the core area, and be part of the Split vibe.
At night people are still out. The younger people, surrounded by historic towers, talk, and play music.
