Day 362, From Munich, Germany to Padova, Italy
After we got settled, we went into the adorable center of town to find a place to eat. We followed a little group of people into a bustling little restaurant. I was going to say Italian restaurant, but since we are in Italy, I suppose they all are. We ordered pasta, because when in Italy… After the meal, we wandered around the town square and saw spectacular churches and other buildings. Seeing older architecture never gets old for me. The girls can amuse themselves in any situation. There was nothing to do, but they were frolicking around the square being all goofy and carefree, just enjoying the moment, trying to make each other laugh. Toward the end of our walk we came across a little carnival. We always find little great spontaneous things in these towns, just by wandering around. At this carnival, the guy running the bumper cars gave them a handful of tokens to do the cars. Just like in the clubs, if you have girls, the boys will show up. He knew what he was doing. This little town doesn’t see a lot of tourists, so they were a favorite target. At any given time there were quite a few cars targeting them, Madi was just screaming the entire time. A bumper car hazard they’d never experienced is that many of the guys were smoking while driving. So sometimes you had to avoid a lit cigarette in flight or one hanging over the side of the car. The guys with girls in the car drove with one arm around them, cigarette in hand, while the girls had an unimpressed I’d-rather-be-driving face on. They rode until they couldn’t handle the whiplash any longer. They were laughing and speed talking all the way home. We heard about all the bumper car antics as we went home.
