A Miami Pit Stop with a Significant Birthday

Miami

Day 87

We flew into Miami last night, which gave us enough time to hit a 24 hr grocery to buy supplies for Madi’s 18th birthday celebration this morning. I ordered her presents a few weeks ago while still in Costa Rica, got home to find them waiting. How did we shop for birthdays before Amazon Prime and Etsy, really, how?  No running from store to store. With a few search words I can find the most uniquely personalized gifts whilst shopping in my pjs. Could life get any better?

Madi got her birthday pedi while writing a paper.

Madi woke up to her 18th birthday breakfast in her own bed. In the evening we did a courtyard dinner under twinkly lights. Our family is now four-fifths adult. Only one more tweeter still in the nest. Yikes. Weird. Don’t think about it. Ok. Onward.

We stayed for just under a week in Miami and yet the days evaporated. The girls got to connect with all their friends, we culled and gave away more of our stuff, shopped for some warmer clothes for the next leg of the trip, picked up textbooks for the Madi, did some snorkeling on Key Biscayne, ate some Cuban food, all the necessary FL stuffs. Before we knew it, it was time to hit the road.
