Budapest River Cruise

Hungary

Day 353, Budapest, Hungary

The balcony facing the Danube is a beautiful place to have coffee in the morning. It’s finally feeling warm enough for shorts. We’ve been in Budapest for four nights, and that’s a longer stretch for us on this part of the trip as we are trying to see many new cities in this part of Europe. These longer stretches are important for Cali, since she’s completing Geometry and Biology. She hopes to get them both done before we go to Canada.Hungary Tonight we are going on a river cruise. In the evenings we see the long boats pass by our balcony. It’s time to switch places. We took the tram that runs down the river. We bought tram tickets even though there seems to be no method in which to use them, and no one else seems to be buying them, and there are no passes as far as we can see. We always buy the tickets anyway. The tram took us right to the place where we boarded the boat.Hungary Hungary Hungary Hungary HungaryThe tour was for an hour. The part of the river worthy of seeing isn’t lengthy, but what it doesn’t have in distance, it makes up for in stunning, illuminated buildings. Both the Buda and the Pest sides have an amazing collection, starting with the Parliament. There was a commentary in your language, and a drink to go with our new knowledge of the city. It was spectacular. We waved to our apartment. Spectacular evening on the Danube.Hungary Hungary Hungary
