On our daily walk through Ueno Park, this is what we saw.

First, here’s your daily dose of sakura.

In the middle of Shinobazu Lake, there is the Tokagawa mausoleum.

Today there was a little craft fair set up in the park.

The best part were the food trucks. The first one wins the reward for the cutest food truck ever.

But the cutest scene of the day was out in front of our grocery store. This little doggie was patiently waiting in a bicycle basket for it’s owner to come out.

The most important part of the day came in the afternoon, which we spent with my cousin and his wife. Both of my parents were immigrants. My father’s family all lived in Japan. My mom came from Germany. We had no first cousins on my mom’s side, and I have only two first cousins who both live in Japan. I rarely see my cousins, so each encounter is very rare.

We went out to eat and then came back to our apartment. It was a wonderful afternoon with both of them. It’s a pleasure to have them as family and I wish we could see them more often.
