Day 101
Ed Debevic’s; a little diner where the insults are soft, and usually directed at the kids, and the food is good…enough. We’ve been going to Ed’s since the girls were little, the waiter threw the menus at them from across the table and asked them if they could hurry up and order in this century. They were delighted.
The disrespect continued throughout the meal along with pretending to drop a full cup of water on them. Hourly the waitstaff took a break to climb onto the bar and dance to the Village Peoples’ YMCA. We wrapped up the meal with the world’s tiniest sundae, served in an egg cup, a few more insults hurled, and everyone’s satisfied.
Even though the kids are older, whenever we are in Chicago they insist on a meal at Ed’s to get their hairstyle insulted or comments on the size of their brains. The parents always get a side of fries with that.
