Sometimes it’s not a couple of things that don’t go right, but a crap ton. Cali was having a string of tough days, and by the weekend, she was bummed. Paul came up with the idea to counterbalance the feeling like nothing was going right, with the Everything Goes Right Day. The whole family pitched in to come up with ideas to make it memorable.
As with any good celebration, festive decor sets the tone. Madi snuck in her room during the night and decorated her loft. Good thing she’s a heavy sleeper.
Bathroom mirror introduced the day.
Cali loves over-sized balloons, had to get creative to make one work for the occasion. Ya, this one came with fur.
There were three goodie bags. One on the bathroom door handle with face masks, lotions, other treats.
Favorite lip stuff and new water bottle.
On her desk was a bag with her favorite pens, funny stickies, other schooly things. The last one was a bag of all her favorite snacks and chocolates. She kept finding these bags throughout the day. Her favorite fruit and drinks were stocked in the fridge, lots of raspberries, and fizzy lemonade.
Here was the card we made for her.
Then there were the activities. First her favorite breakfast and faux bacon.
After breakfast we went to a movie, got her favorite snacks and a slushy. Then we went to her favorite beach to have a late lunch and then some ice cream.
Next, we went to the new iFly and she did a couple of sessions of indoor skydiving. The instructor took her half way up the tube for the session finale. Cali loved it.
Back at home, she spent some time with the latest foster doggie by the pool, while waiting for the cookies to cool for ice cream, cookie sandwiches. Woot!
Then she got to choose the movie for the evening with no arguments from anyone. Perhaps the sweetest thing of all. Total content control.
She was the happiest kid by the end of the day. We’ll have more of these in the future!
