Day 29 Summer in Asia, Chiang Mai, Thailand
First fantastic rest I’ve had in weeks. The room was quiet, a fantastic mattress, and even a soft comforter instead of a sheet. Breakfast was by the light of lanterns–love being back in Thailand.
We walked into the old town to scout it out. Lots of coffee places and tourists drinking in them.
We passed a local neighborhood Wat, with a monk sleeping on the porch.
Then we passed a salon advertising French Girl Hair, and decided to interpret it as, “foreign hair welcome”. I popped my head in to see if they could do a touch up. They were all super friendly, so I got her done. They gave me a 700 baht price which was below their range of 800-2000. I was pleased to be treated so fairly. The young woman who did my hair was so sweet to me. She diligently shampooed my hair 3 times, amazing head massage, then conditioned twice. I think my head was in the sink for a half an hour, which was great since that’s my favorite part. I gave her a 200 baht tip and she was so pleased.
While I was getting French Girl hair, the fam was waiting for me at See You Soon. This was a quaint hotel with a restaurant and gift shop. We spent a little time here before heading home. We will come out another day to see the major temples.
