Day 100
As a little girl growing up in St. Louis, we would often make day trips to Chicago. The Field Museum was one of our favorites. My dad would drive through the night so we would be in the parking lot when the doors opened. I remember the excitement of seeing the familiar elephants and beautiful curved staircase in the main lobby. Watching the girls enjoy the same museum I enjoyed at their age, makes me feel nostalgically giddy.

Field Museums are Madi’s absolute favorite type of museum, while her older sister prefers art and science, and her little sister enjoys live animals. The Chicago Museum is extensive. The permanent Inside Ancient Egypt exhibit is one of Madi’s favorite in the world, and she has seen a few.
In the morning we went to the 3D Imax on the Galapagos. Instead of only focusing on the unique wildlife of the islands, it explained why this is a unique environment being influenced as far away as the rainforests of New Guinea. Fascinating.
We also visited the Underground Adventure, The Ancient Americas, Hall of China, Mammals of Asia, Mammoths and Mastodons. The Vikings exhibit was particularly interesting with a few interactive features that were especially clever.
