Day 199
It was an airplane themed day. The time had come for Kier to go back to the States, so Paul and I took her to the airport and said good-bye. I wonder how many times and in how many airports we’ve done this. Airport drops always makes me sadder than what seems reasonable for the situation, but ironically, feelings don’t care. Paul tracks her planes and keeps me up to date, let’s me know what she is flying over. She texts us after she lands, even if it’s a layover. It’s our little system.
Paul wanted to go to the Museum of Air and Space, which was on the way home. It was a good distraction from Kier’s departure. This is his favorite type of museum, so we took our time. The most interesting part was going aboard a number of planes like the Concorde. Paul thought it had a broad and very comprehensive collection of aircrafts, maybe the biggest collection, the best he has seen. I would have enjoyed it more if the museum weren’t so cold. My fingers, toes, and the rest of me was frozen. I was glad when Paul had had his fill of flycraft and we went to an Indian restaurant for lunch…until they opened the door to cool the place down. We finished up and took the metro home to our warm little home. Meanwhile, Kier was somewhere over the Atlantic on her way to Iceland.
