We lead a double life. In the past 18 years, we have travelled outside of North America for 2700 of those days.
We are a Canadian/American family of perpetual travelers, currently living in Miami, Florida. We combine a busy urban life with exploring the fascinating, unfamiliar corners of our world. It’s an often messy balancing act, yet we can’t seem to live in one world without the other. We have a deep need for both. 94 countries later, we’ve developed some tenacious skills at weaving extraordinary travels into an otherwise typical suburban lifestyle. You can have it all, but you’ll need more coffee.
With my husband, three girls, and a Guatemalan doggie, we enjoy living on the unconventional edges of where travel takes us. We have never spent a week at an all-inclusive…think an ancient apartment near the Galata Tower in Istanbul. That’s us. We prefer longer stays of a month, a summer, a half year, year, or a few years to get familiar with a culture. These are our stories as we get lost, get messy, search for stomach-calming remedies, and unintentionally use the wrong hand gestures around the world.
