While living in Canada, October meant getting ready for the long winter ahead. Living in Miami, we are prepping for the best months of the year. In Canada we would be stocking up on warm clothes like gloves and mittens. Here, you can find those in Party City in the costume area. They are a fun and decorative novelty, not a daily necessity.
We do things like plant flowers.
Plant more herbs.
Stock up on seasonal summer items like patio chairs or bbq accessories. The larger stores only restock these items in the Spring when the larger demand for them increases. 
Visit Disney and the other Orlando parks. The Fall is the best time to take advantage of Florida resident discounts and visit the parks. We recently did Epcot and Universal Studios. We’ll do more in the coming weeks. The girls’ favorite is Hogwarts at Universal. Here’s the fire-breathing dragon.
Never too much Mickey (Japanese Uniqlo Store).
One of the best parts of living here is being active and outside every day. The doggie and I go for long walks and enjoy the sunshine.
